Quokka quiz engine
Quokka is a question and answer tool that enables a range of interactive experiences. The quiz and survey tool allows a variety of automatic or manually marked assessment tasks and can include pre-testing, context setting, reviews, interactive question and answers, contextual hints and tips and groupwork. Questions can include Flash, Shockwave and QuickTime elements in addition to Quokka's large range of inbuilt question types and features.
Several features make Quokka stand out in comparison to many other quiz engines. It allows developers to customize the look-and-feel of the quiz screens, user-access to quizzes can be time-released and/or restricted to specified groups of users, quizzes can be blocked depending on users' performance in other quizzes, and auto-branching can automatically take users to other quiz questions or even other web pages depending on their selected answer. This allows educators to create online experiences such as PBL cases that have dynamic branching pathways.
Quokka has excellent tracking tools that allow you to keep abreast of what the students are up to and their current performance. Although most question types are automatically marked, Quokka provides a powerful, yet easy to use, interface for the questions that need to be marked manually by tutors. Student results can be viewed on any web browser, or they can be downloaded and opened using a spreadsheet for further analysis.
